This week (Monday 3 July – Sunday 9 July 2023), Greater Manchester Police is supporting Anti-social behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week.
The week, organised by Resolve – the UK’s leading ASB and community safety organisation – promotes and puts emphasis on social responsibility and aims to reduce incidents of antisocial behaviour.
ASB is categorised as any offence that causes harassment, alarm, or distress. From aggressive, noisy or abusive behaviour to neighbourhood disturbances involving drugs or animals, anti-social behaviour takes many forms.
Throughout the week, officers and partners will be out-and-about across the region, highlighting the ongoing work that is taking place to address ASB-related issues that affect our communities.
This will include patrols in hotspot areas from our green spaces to our transport network as part of our ongoing Safe4Summer operation, which focuses on providing positive diversionary activities to young people across the region and encouraging them to stay safe when out and about over the summer, particularly around water and outdoor spaces.
We are also hosting an anti-social behaviour Q&A on Tuesday 4 July at 2pm – 4pm and we’d encourage you to join to speak to our panel who can help provide support and advice to any questions you may have. You can join us live or submit your questions via the link here – https://app.sli.do/event/iiziQrrMa1gfahoH2qG3GS/live/questions
If yourself, or a member of your community is experiencing ASB, please report it to us via LiveChat or via the dedicated link on our website – https://www.gmp.police.uk/ro/report/asb/asb/report-antisocial-behaviour/
Always call 999 in an emergency.
You can also report incidents 100% anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111, or through their online form.
